Qualified Second Seed Runners If you qualify for Second Seeding, please follow these instructions:
- If you qualified for Second Seeding based on your 2008 Bloomsday time (not based on age group placing), your best bet is to enter online by the posted deadline. You'll be given the option during online registration of purchasing (for $20.00) an amenities package--which includes a Second Seed singlet, gear bag, transport of gear bag from start to finish on race day, and entry to the post-race tent party. Whether you choose to purchase the amenities package or not, a brown number will be assigned to you. This number will allow you to start in the Second Seeding area.
- If you're entering through the mail, or if you qualify for Second Seeding based on your age-group placing in Bloomsday 2008, or if you meet the standard at one of the races listed above, contact Second Seed Coordinator for instructions on receiving Second Seeding. You can do this before entering online, or by April 19 if you're already entered (You'll also have the option of purchasing the amenities package--which includes a Second Seed singlet, gear bag, transport of gear bag from start to finish on race day, and entry to the post-race tent party.)
- Once you've arranged for Second Seeding in one of the ways listed above, pick up your official number (and amenities package, if you purchased it) at the Second Seed desk at Check-In on Friday, May 1 or Saturday, May 2.
- If you qualify at a race listed above that occurs after April 19, pick up your number at Check-In and take it to the Second Seed desk at Check-In to request a number change to Second Seeding (brown number).
- If you qualify for Second Seeding but don't purchase an amenities package ahead of time, you can do this at Check-In for $20.00, subject to availability. In any case, you must have a brown number to start in the Second Seed area.
Warm-up Gear Drop-off and Post-Race Party Second Seed runners who purchase the amenities package may check their warm-up gear at the start line. Your gear will then be waiting for you at the Corporate Cup Post-Race Party. Free drinks, food, and massage at the party are included in the amenities package. You must be wearing your Second Seed singlet to attend the party.
Second Seeding for Out-of-Town Runners Out-of-town runners who are unable to qualify for Elite Seeding or attend one of the Second Seeding qualifying races listed above, may be able to qualify for Second Seeding. Check with Second Seed Coordinator for details. Second Seeding is limited, but race officials will do their best to accommodate out-of-town runners.
If you have questions about Second Seeding, please contact Second Seed Coordinator.
