Senior Seeding is a special starting area, shared with Second Seeding, on Riverside Avenue reserved for runners age 50 and older who finished in last year's Bloomsday with a time faster than those listed below:
Qualified Senior Seed Runners If you qualify for Senior Seeding, please follow these instructions:
- Register for Bloomsday by the posted deadline. If you qualified for Senior Seeding based on your 2007 Bloomsday time, you can order a Senior/Second Seed singlet during online registration and pick it up on race weekend at the Second Seed desk (beginning in 2008 it's not necessary to purchase a singlet to start in the Second Seed area)..
- Pick up your official Bloomsday race number at Check-In on Friday, May 2nd or Saturday, May 3rd.
- Go to the special Second Seeding desk at Check-In with your Bloomsday race number and proper identification. Your qualifying time will be verified using last year's Bloomsday results. We may need to exchange your number at this time
- If you purchased a Senior/Second Seed singlet during online registration, you can pick it up at this time. If you'd like to purchase a singlet (beginning in 2008 this is not mandatory) pay a $12 fee to cover the cost. You must have a brown number to start in the Second Seed area. Availability and sizing of Second Seed singlets will be on a first-come, first-served basis..
Warm-up Gear Drop-off and Post-Race Party All Senior Seed runners may check their warm-up gear at the start line. Your gear will then be waiting for you at the Corporate Cup Post-Race Party. Senior Seed runners are encouraged to stay and enjoy free drinks, food, and massage.
