Bloomsday takes another tech step forward this year by adding D-tag timing by Chronotrack. When you check in on Bloomsday weekend, you’ll find an orange plastic strip on your race number. Remove it from your number and follow directions on how to place this in the laces of your shoe on race morning. If you do this correctly, it should form the letter D on top of your shoe, which gives you a clue on how the D-tag got its name.
The D-tag uses radio frequency identification to track each participant individually, just like the system Bloomsday has used the past four years. But the application of the technology is simpler and smoother. In the end, the result will be the same—every runner, jogger and walker will be timed precisely from the moment they cross the starting line to the moment they cross the finish.
Be sure to read all instructions provided at Check-In regarding proper use of the D-tag. We don’t want to miss you!
