Thousands of Bloomies take the bus to and from the start every year. Spokane Transit provides special Bloomsday shuttle service from five locations on Sunday morning.
*Spokane Valley Mall
*Ferris High School
*West Plains Transit Center
Race Day Drop-off: 1st Avenue between Post and Stevens.
Return Trip begins at 10:30 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m., loading on 1st Avenue between Post and Stevens.
Cost: $2.00 (no charge for youth 18 and younger; youth 5 and under must be accompanied). The bus pass may be purchased when you sign-up online for Bloomsday (up until the personalized race bib deadline of April 15), or at the STA booth located at race check-in on Friday, May 5 or Saturday, May 6 at the Spokane Convention Center.
Regular Sunday bus service (and zones) will resume at approximately 4:00 p.m. and continue until 7:00 p.m.
Those riding the bus should check out Bloomsday's backpack restrictions to avoid bringing items on the bus that won't be allowed in the starting area. (Note: These are Bloomsday's policies, not STA's).
STA will also have a booth at Bloomsday Check-In on May 5 and 6 to sell bus passes and provide any additional information. You can also purchase passes during online registration (STA passes purchased during online registration will be noted with an "STA" printed on the actual Bloomsday race number. This will allow you to board the bus on race morning. If you order a pass online, you don't need to pick up your pass at Bloomsday Check-In).
You can still use the shuttle service without a pass on race day. The fare is $2.00 each way, and exact change is required.
Any valid fare pass including STA Connect cards may also be used to pay for shuttle transportation.
For a more detailed description of this service provided by STA, including maps of each shuttle pick-up location and loading times, visit STA's Bloomsday Shuttle page.
